Take a look at our pioneering past detailed in a new exhibition on show at Artspace Mackay from Friday.
The MAC Services presents Pioneer Tracks of Queensland: A photographic celebration, at Mackay Town Hall from 6pm Friday.

The exhibition features the historical photographs of John Henry Mills (1851 -1919) recorded during the early years of Queensland settlement.

Themes displayed in the exhibition include views of the day-to-day life on a gold field, studies of workers, commercial portraiture of the period, images of the small towns linked together by the great early dray routes, as well as many photographs of teamsters and bullockies at work.

The exhibition is presented by The MAC Services Group Limited and acknowledges the contribution of Lyall Ford, great grandson of John Henry Mills, who made the acquisition and display of these photographs possible.

The exhibition Pioneer Tracks of Queensland: A photographic celebration is on display until March 7.
